Attention graduating seniors!

The class of 2017 is looking for one of YOU to be this year's commencement ceremony speaker. If you are interested, click here for the materials and stop by room 717 to receive an application packet from Mr. Holmquist. All materials from interested students must be turned into Mr. Holmquist by Friday, April 21. In the weeks ahead, listen for announcements and look for flyers posted through the school.

We are proud to announce that, on Saturday, February 18, 2017, the first-ever Stay Safe Workshop for high school senior girls and their mothers will be held at Craig High School.

The purpose of the event is to provide young women with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves from crime as they prepare to leave high school for more education or to join the workforce.

The three-hour workshop will include three sessions - self-defense, safety awareness, and identity and financial safety. The self-defense portion is based upon the S.A.F.E. Program from the National Self-Defense Institute. S.A.F.E. stands for Self-defense, Awareness, Familiarization, and Exchange. The program is taught by police officers and is designed to educate women on how to protect themselves from crime by introducing them to physical training methods. Additionally, participants will learn about how to protect themselves online and in financial interactions through a curriculum developed by the Hedberg Public Library and Craig educators and students.

There is no cost for this workshop. The project is a collaboration of AAUW, the Janesville Police Department, Janesville Public Schools, Craig High School, Craig PTO, and Hedberg Public Library.

Craig senior girls and their mothers (or another important woman in the student's life) can register by contacting Dr. Alison Bjoin, Craig Principal; or by phone at 608-743-5155.

This class will be filled on a first come, first served basis; unfortunately, there is a limit on the number of participants that can be accommodated. So, sign up early!

Each year, Craig High School recognizes alumni who have realized personal/professional achievements and given back to their community in some way by inducting them into our school's Honor Wall.

I am writing to ask you to nominate deserving alumni. Completed nomination forms should be turned in to the Main Office at Craig High School or emailed to the Principal Dr. Alison Bjoin by the end of the day, Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Follow this link to find our nomination form and a list of previous recipients:

Questions should be directed to Craig's Principal (email address above or call 608-743-5155).
